Background and Interests

John Tutko was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He spent much of his formative years in the St. Louis area where he started his career in the restaurant business. After a 20+ year career as a chef, cooking for friends and presidents alike, John decided to hang up his chef’s coat.

 

 Woodworking has been a life long hobby and passion for John and in 2006, John decided to pursue his passion and started work with a local construction company to “get his feet wet” in the industry and learned many tricks of the trade.

Shortly thereafter, Tutko’s Fine Woodworking was formed. John now owns his own shop. He designs and creates custom furnishings and unique wood products handmade in Colorado. Many of his products are created from reclaimed woods and beetle kill pine. Another one of his specialties is his line of wine crate creations.
